Recently, the main statistics on intellectual property in Jan.-Oct. 2023 was published by the CNIPA. As compared to the same period of 2022:
I. Patent
By the end of October 2023, China saw an amount of valid invention patents up to 4,870,000. There were a total of 3,897,000 domestic valid invention patents (excluding Hong Kong, Macao, and Taiwan), 11,923,000 valid utility model patents, and 3,159,000 valid design patents among them.
From January to October 2023, a total of 59,000 PCT applications were received, of which 54,900 were from domestic applicants.
From January to October 2023, a total of 1,505 international design applications were filed by domestic applicants【1】, and a total of 1,449 published international design applications have been designated in China【2】.
II. Trademark
From January to October 2023, China saw an amount of trademark applications up to 5,877,000, and an amount of trademark registrations up to 3,525,000. By the end of October 2023, the number of valid trademark registrations was up to 45,447,000.
From January to October 2023, a total of 4,989 trademark applications were filed by domestic applicants through Madrid system.
III. Geography Marks, Chart of Integrate Circuit
From January to October 2023, China approved 9 products of geographical indications, 168 geographical indications registered as collective marks and certification marks, and 5333 market players approved to use the special marks ofthe geographical indications. By the end of October 2023, a total of 2504 products of geographical indications have been approved, 7,244 geographical indications registered as collective marks and certification marks, and 26296 market players approved to use the special marks of the geographical indications.
From January to October 2023, a total of 9,846 applications of layout designs of integrated circuit were filed, and 9,071 were registered.
